About The Client
Operating a large manufacturing facility, our client runs machinery for extended periods and their staff work close to high noise sources. With their focus on providing safe workspaces, the team sought an acoustic system that would improve workplace conditions while keeping production running smoothly.

The Challenge
Two areas required focused acoustic treatment:
- The oiler house measuring 11 metres long, 6 metres wide and 6 metres high.
- The compressor enclosure measuring 6.2 metres long, 5.2 metres wide and 4.6 metres high.
Both areas contained equipment that generated continual airborne noise. Existing mesh walls, structural purlins and integrated louvres meant that AcousTech’s design had to work within the facility’s current structure while still delivering strong acoustic performance.
Our Approach
For AcousTech, every project begins with curiosity. Our engineers assessed each enclosure’s internal structure, airflow requirements and possible vibration paths. We then developed a custom design that aligned with the existing framework and allowed accurate integration around mechanical components.
On-site delivery
Before installation, AcousTech’s Salesperson, Project Coordinator and Director of Operations all attended site together. This hands-on approach ensured every measurement, fixing point and structural interface matched the intended design so that the final installation would perform exactly as planned.

The Delivered Solution
- Sonic Acoustic Curtain 6.5 kg system with an Rw rating of 27 for both enclosures
- Interior wall lining fixed directly to existing purlins and mesh walls
- Blue finish selected to suit the facility’s existing colours
- Precise cutouts around two 900 x 900 mm louvres in the compressor enclosure
- Galvanised acoustic louvres supplied with supporting steelwork for secure installation
- Final onsite measure completed before fabrication to confirm fit

The Benefits for Ridley
-
- Reduced airborne noise in both enclosures
- Improved comfort and safety for staff working nearby
- Retention of the original structural framework
- Minimal disruption to operations
- Maintained airflow and access around equipment
- Durable acoustic performance shaped for long-term use
