Every Sonic Series acoustic louvre is built for industrial exposure and long service life. Standard construction features:
- Galvabond steel blades and casing
- Non-combustible, inert acoustic infill
- Perforated protection sheet over the absorber
- Bird and vermin mesh options
- Support straps for spans over 1800mm wide
- Modular construction for assemblies over 3600mm high or wide
Available material options: galvanised mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel, powder-coated finishes.
Testing & Compliance
Performance, modelled and verified
Sonic Series acoustic louvre performance is modelled by Deratec using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for airflow and rain, and acoustic calculation methods aligned to AS 1191:2002 (R2016) and ISO 717.1:2004. Each model is assessed for:
- Acoustic insertion loss
- Airflow resistance and free area
- Rain penetration resistance
- Mechanical strength and durability
Louvre assemblies are manufactured to meet the relevant Australian building code requirements for the specified application.
How To Specify
Built for integration
Sonic Series acoustic louvres are specified as standalone screens, banked into façades, or integrated into acoustic enclosures with Sonic System acoustic modular panels and Sonic Access acoustic doors. They suit new construction and retrofit.
To specify a Sonic Series acoustic louvre, select the model based on acoustic and airflow requirements, then confirm overall size, blade orientation, material, finish and any accessories (bird and vermin mesh, weather hoods, support framing, interface to doors or ducting).
