At the request of Flexshield, the Acoustics Laboratory at RMIT University’s School of Electrical and Computer Engineering conducted a transmission loss test on a sample of the Flexshield Sonic Curtain 6kg. The testing procedures adhered to the following standards:

1. Australian Standard 1191-2002: Acoustics – Method for Laboratory Measurement of Airborne Sound Transmission Loss of Building Partitions.
2. AS/NZS ISO 717.1-2004: Acoustics – Rating of Sound Insulation in Buildings and of Building Elements, Part I: Airborne Sound Insulation (determination of the Weighted Sound Transmission Index – Rw).
