What acoustic readings from Mars tell us about the need to travel? Space travel has fascinated humankind for years. And today, it’s especially exciting that our ever-advancing technology will soon allow astronauts to land on Mars and explore.
A recent major step on the pathway to human exploration of Mars was the February 2021 mission of the Perseverance Rover. As its central goal, the Rover sought out ancient signs of life and collected rock samples for return to Earth for further analysis.
Intriguingly – and of great relevance to our work here at Flexshield – Perseverance also collected acoustic readings from the distant red planet. One recording from Mars reveals the faint sounds of Martian winds, while another records the Perseverance Rover shooting lasers into Martian rocks.
What does noise on Mars mean to Flexshield?
Previous sound readings from Mars came from ground vibrations turned into sounds. The new advancements in software technology mean we will soon have the ability to capture even more sounds.
These exciting developments have given Flexshield’s site visits a whole new lease of life! While it’s exciting that the Perseverance Rover is tracking sound on Mars, it reinforces to us that there is still so much we can do to improve the lives of Earth’s inhabitants – especially those in the industrial sector.
If you are part of an industrial business struggling with excess noise, you do not need to continue the struggle. The Flexshield team offer site visits – not to Mars just yet – but certainly within the Australasian region.
How a site visit from Flexshield helps with noise control for your business
A Flexshield visit to your site is the first step in providing you with the answer to your noise control or screening concern. Each solution we design is unique to the individual project.
Our noise control engineers will talk with you to understand your business and processes. The engineer will take noise readings and recommend solutions for your business.
Questions we may ask you:
- Do you need physical access to the machinery?
- How often do you need access to the piece of machinery?
- Does the temperature of your machine need to be maintained?
By meeting a member of our Flexshield team face-to-face – the people who will design your noise control solution – you’ll have greater trust that we understand your business needs and will do the best we can for you.
Talk to Flexshield about a site visit
A site visit offers two major benefits: it helps everyone understand the desired outcome, and it allows our engineers to create final designs and get them right the first time.
